François Clos : Précipité, 64 questions :
Cacophony is a multimedia project involving several artists to create an alternative universe.
Intrigued by the relationships formed between the sound material and its manipulator, François Clos directs its course towards the study of the human machine interface. Frequently, it is at the heart of the device more for pleasure than dedication. He readily cites Godspeed You Black Emperor and The Microphones, Einstürzende Neubauten, Can, Ennio Morricone and Pan Sonic in his current influences.
For Cacophony Project (which resulted in this record), he teamed with photographer Quentin Caffier to make the image that steals silence. The idea of cacophony is not addressed head-on, as the bursting of the musical body, but rather a set of coherence and dissonance. Also, "64 Questions" evokes the music heard by characters retro futuristic. Are they silent? Or rather the words they continually escape their mouths still open?
