D-Brane is a belgium-based (Mons) electronic musician.
He's producing a layered and processed sound, combining influences from old and modern electronic music. His creations can be seen as evolving in a three dimensional space (dansability, organicity, electronicity) and are a way to think about the innovation and the recycling in music. Assuredly his approach is the study of the sound.
His music can be mostly tagged as electro-jazz-IDM with soundtrack atmospheres.
D-brane has several educations in sound engineering and in electroacoustic music; he really started using computers for composition around 1999 and is also known under the Scootchy nickname.
He has won some prizes on electrobel.be:
- winner of the Reaman's Remix Contest in 2005,
- winner of the Lorsen's Concrete Music Contest in 2006
- finalist of the Dark Contest (Electrobel, Jemenfish, BIFF) in 2007
